Where Does Rowlands Map Lead In Hogwarts Legacy

In Hogwarts Legacy, players encounter numerous side quests that require clever navigation and keen observation to complete. One of the most intriguing treasure-style quests involves unraveling hand-drawn clues left behind by an abducted wizard during the mission known as The Tale of Rowland Oakes. Deciphering Rowland's map leads players across the open world to a heavily fortified destination where answers and rewards await.

Starting The Tale of Rowland Oakes Quest

To begin this journey, players must talk to Adelaide Oakes in the Transfiguration Courtyard at Hogwarts Castle. She expresses deep concern over her uncle Rowland, a trader who has gone missing after meeting with hostile goblin factions. Your initial objective sends you straight to Rowland's abandoned campsite to search for clues regarding his sudden disappearance.

Finding the Map at Rowland's Campsite

Upon arriving at the campsite northwest of Hogwarts, players encounter a group of aggressive Ranrok Loyalists. After defeating the enemies, cast Revelio to easily spot Rowland's journal and hand-drawn map sitting on a crate. The map features stylized illustrations including a winding river, rock formations, and a ruined fortress.

Deciphering the Clues to Locate Korrow Ruins

The drawings on the map point westward along the river path leading away from the central Highlands. By tracking this landmark, players will discover that the map leads directly to the Korrow Ruins located at the far western edge of the world map. This ancient goblin outpost serves as the hideout where Rowland Oakes is being held captive deep underground.

Rescuing Rowland Oakes and Completing the Quest

Once inside the Korrow Ruins, players must battle through waves of goblins to locate Rowland's dungeon cell. You will also need to light a large central boiler using fire spells like Incendio or Confringo to unlock access to his confiscated wand. Returning the wand to Rowland completes the quest, rewarding you with experience points and a unique Handcrafted Necklace cosmetic item.
